On June 10, 2020, Pennsylvania Congressman Guy Resenchatler announced his proposal to open the U.S.’s borders to Hong Kong refugees.

He went on Twitter to reveal his letter advocating for the Trump administration to bring in Hong Kong refugees.

Resenchatler tweeted, “The Trump Admin continues to show support for the people of Hong Kong. As the CCP attempts to steal their basic human rights, it’s important we offer refugee status to any Hong Kongers seeking freedom in the US. I wrote to @SecPompeourging support for this safety vessel for HK.”

Other members of Congress such as Anthony Gonzalez, Elise Stefanik, and John Joyce signed on to this letter.

While these proposals sound fine and dandy, it ignores how China weaponizes its immigration policy.

For example, journalist Alessandra Bochi illustrated how the Chinese mainland government allows 150 Han Chinese dwellers migrate to Hong Kong on a daily basis. The purpose of this migration pattern is to displace the Hong Kong population and “make the island more pro-Beijing.”

In an article last year for The American Conservative, Bochi reported that “Close to 1.5 million mainland Chinese immigrants have moved to the city since Hong Kong became part of China in 1997, and now make up about 20 percent of Hong Kong’s population.”

Given how infiltrated Hong Kong has become, the U.S. could be allowing Chinese spies, military assets, and other agents come into the country under the guise of being “refugees.” This is in line with China’s unconventional influence strategies where it uses soft power to build 5th columns across the globe, which has been part and parcel of Chinese statecraft for multiple millenia. Wikipedia highlighted this:

The Han Chinese are bound together with a shared history inhabiting an ancient ancestral territory for over four thousand years, deeply rooted with many different cultural traditions and customs. The Huaxia tribes in northern China experienced a continuous expansion into Southern China over the past two millennia. Huaxia culture spread southward from its heartland in the Yellow River Basin, absorbing various non-Chinese ethnic groups that became sinicised over the centuries at various points in China’s history.

If there is one civilization that understands the power of demographic shift and its over-arching effects on politics, it’s China.

If the U.S. is to accept any refugees from Hong Kong, it should specifically be individuals from resistance movements or those who can offer the U.S. potential intelligence on what mainland China has planned for the U.S. In essence, the U.S. should take a restrictive approach to migration from Hong Kong and China. We also have to realize that millions of Americans are out of work due to the Wuhan virus lockdowns and there is no point in bringing more migrants to displace American workers and potentially depress their wages.

China has adapted from its Maoist past, although it still has ambitions of global domination. That’s why the U.S. should enact restrictive immigration policies as a way to deny the Chinese Communist Party the opportunity to continue expanding its influence.

More welfare refugees by the millions packed into west coast cities that are already slums.
