“Islamist Fulani raiders are waging a barbaric war on Nigeria’s Christians, the Wall Street Journal reported this week, in a brutal campaign to rid the country’s Middle Belt of non-Muslims.”

Finally, the mainstream Wall Street Journal has picked up the issue of Christian persecution in Africa as a “new war” on African Christians. Only it isn’t a “new war.” Jihad Watch has been on this for some time — going back years — while other media has either ignored the issue altogether for fear of being called “Islamophobic,” or else has been calling the Fulani jihadists “herdsmen”; in much the same kind of avoidance tactic that we have seen in reference to “Asian grooming gangs,” as opposed to stating the truth of what they are: Muslim rape gangs.

It is welcome news nonetheless that the Wall Street Journal has taken up the issue for what it is. In a disturbing description by the WSJ:

“In his first-hand account of the atrocities in the former British colony, Bernard-Henri Lévy writes the Fulani extremists now pose a greater threat than the Islamic terror group Boko Haram, and are responsible for systematic jihadist attacks involving burning, raping, maiming, pillaging, and killing.

Lévy describes the campaign as a “slow-motion war” against Nigeria’s Christians, “massive in scale and horrific in brutality.” And worst of all, he asserts, “the world has hardly noticed.”….

In his account, Lévy chronicles a series of atrocities: “The mutilated cadavers of women. A mute man commanded to deny his faith, then cut up with a machete until he screams. A girl strangled with the chain of her crucifix.”

And while all this is going on, most Western countries have flung open their doors to indiscriminate, unvetted Muslim migration instead of prioritizing Christians, all while collectively appeasing Islamic supremacists at home. Jihad Watch has been far ahead in explaining what to expect in continuing this appeasement.
