Senate Spending Bill Has a Backdoor Amnesty for 4,000 Liberians, Trump Must Reject It

Is President Trump about to sign a backdoor amnesty bill?
On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, the Senate voted for the National Defense Authorization Act of 2020.
Although the bill was originally intended to fund the Defense Department, it had provisions snuck into it that would give permanent residency to thousands of Liberians.
Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed, slipped this provision into the final bill while no one was looking. This bill, S.1790, only had 8 Senators vote against it — four Republicans and four Democrats. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was one of the dissenters.
This bill would provide permanent residency and a pathway to citizenship to about 4,000 Liberian nationals. Without this provision passing, these Liberians would face deportation.
President Trump is expected to sign the NDAA into law when it comes to his desk. However, he was opposed to allowing these Liberians to stay in the U.S. Under the Deferred Enforced Departure program, the Liberians are allowed to stay in America, however.
Trump has made two attempts to end DED status for Liberians, with his most recent attempt dating back to March. Despite his threats, Trump extended the Liberians’ protective status in that same month.
If the NDAA becomes law of the land in its current form, the Liberians in question will receive citizenship. Not exactly the America First platform that voters signed up for in 2016.
Even nationalist commentator Tucker Carlson has noticed this devious aspect of the 2020 NDAA.
One Twitter user posted a video clip of Carlson attacking this bill:

Hopefully, Trump sniffs out the nasty part of this spending bill and sends it back to the Senate so that the amnesty provision is removed.
