As investigations into Boeing and its disastrous 737 Max airplane continue, it’s worth pointing out that the reported number of deaths associated with FDA-approved pharmaceutical drugs is about the same as a full 737 Max airplane crashing and killing everyone on board every single day.

The public is outraged, as it should be, that Boeing somehow got away with commercially releasing its flawed 737 Max aircraft, which the company knew had safety issues for a least a year prior to its unveiling. And yet, very few people are talking about the very high number of medical patients who are killed by chemical drugs that the federal government claims are “safe and effective” for treating disease.

As for the 737 Max, we now know that this technological “innovation” was poorly designed, to say the least. It was also equipped with a defective software system known as MCAS (Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System) that pilots were never properly instructed how to use, not to mention the fact that it arrived with some serious bugs that, as we’ve all seen, have the potential to drive the 737 Max airplane straight into the ground unexpectedly.

According to Mark Forkner, Boeing’s former chief technical pilot, the MCAS was “running rampant in the sim” during a 2016 test sequence he conducted for his employer. Forkner actually used the word “egregious” to describe his past interactions with the MCAS, and now admits that he “basically lied to regulators,” though unknowingly, about its functionality.

Southwest Airlines employees say that Boeing’s 737 Max is a “fraud” that put “the flying public at risk”

The whole fiasco has caused the Southwest Airlines Pilots Union – Southwest was the biggest purchaser of Boeing’s 737 Max here in the United States before the aircraft was grounded – to come out publicly in condemnation of Boeing.

According to these Southwest employees, it was “misleading” how Boeing gained approval for the 737 Max with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The union has also called Boeing’s 737 Max a “fraud” that’s put “the flying public at risk,” which in turn has caused Boeing’s shares to plummet in value.

Now that internal company messages revealing this fraud have gone public, the FAA Administrator is demanding that Boeing procure an explanation as to why it delayed the release of these “smoking gun” documents.

“The FAA is … disappointed that Boeing did not bring this document to our attention immediately upon its discovery,” the agency said in a statement,” adding that the contents of this document are “concerning.”

“The FAA is reviewing this information to determine what action is appropriate.”

As usual, Boeing continues to shift blame and skirt responsibility over the 737 Max disaster, removing Dennis Muilenburg from his chairman role while still allowing him to remain the company’s CEO.
