Update: The president just offered Biden a warm welcome to the “nasty” 2020 primary campaign in true Trump fashion: By insulting his intelligence, and the “sick and nasty” ideas held by himself and some of his rivals.
Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign. It will be nasty – you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!

Trump also said he’s looking forward to squaring off with Biden – who once publicly fantasized about taking Trump ‘back behind the gym’ and opening a giant can of whoopass – in the general, assuming he makes it that far.
The president hasn’t said much about the 20 candidates who have thrown their hats in the ring for the 2020 Democratic primary, though he previously welcomed one of his favorite Washington antagonists, Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas’ Warren to the race by declaring that he hoped she would win the primary, because she would be easy to defeat in the general.

Following months of anticipatory leaks and the ‘gropegate’ scandal that nearly derailed the former VP’s ambitions, Joe Biden, who has consistently polled at the top of the ever-expanding Democratic field, has finally announced his plans to seek the 2020 nomination.
In a video published via his twitter feed Thursday morning, the former vice president and Senator from Delaware declared his intention to run, declaring “the core values of this nation… our standing in the world… our very democracy…everything that has made America — America – is at stake.”
