Why Britain needs Australia’s migration policy now

The ruling Liberal-National coalition and the Labor opposition in Australia are both tough on asylum policy. Australia has had the reputation of being tough on people smuggling but in 2013 when the coalition government took power, it toughened their policies further.
Since introducing their Operation Sovereign Borders in 2013, their military has been in control of asylum operations. The government says its policies have restored the integrity of its borders, and helped prevent deaths at sea.
This is exactly why the United Kingdom needs Australia’s migration policy. With the Leave referendum engendering 17.4 million voters having chosen to take back the sovereignty of Britain’s borders, it only makes sense to pursue a policy that will give back control over the borders.
But not only that, as it becomes known that Britain is no longer taking the boats of illegals being trafficked from other countries, it will save lives. Lives put in jeopardy by high priced people smugglers bringing them in overcrowded and inadequate boats.
Since Operation Sovereign Borders began five years ago, it has prevented more than 3300 asylum-seeking migrants coming to Australia by turning away 33 boats, disrupting nearly 80 human trafficker’s ventures.
Instead of taking back control of Britain’s borders, as promised by Cameron’s Conservative government, as well as, by May’s ‘Remainer’ government, in December Prime Minister Theresa May was in Marrakesh signing up the United Kingdom for the ‘forever open borders’ UN Migration Pact.
Both Cameron and May won their respective elections by campaigning on a manifesto promising the referendum and taking the UK out of the European Union.
Yet, May’s ‘Remainer’ Cabinet are doing their best to betray the people of Great Britain by a deal guaranteed to tie the UK to the EU for many years in a deal where the UK has no voting ability but still remains subject to the rules and governance by the European Union. It is no wonder people refer to her as ‘Treason’ May.
The Operation Sovereign Borders poster says: “NO WAY – YOU WILL NOT MAKE AUSTRALIA HOME. The Australian Government has introduced the toughest border protection measures ever.
“- If you get on a boat without a visa you will not end up in Australia.
“- Any vessel seeking to illegally enter Australia will be intercepted and safely removed beyond Australian waters.
“- The rules apply to everyone: families, children, unaccompanied children, educated and skilled.
“- No matter who you are or where you are from, you will not make Australia home.
“THINK AGAIN BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR MONEY. PEOPLE SMUGGLERS ARE LYING.”
And so it would appear, is Mrs. May’s government.
