A professor of higher education is fighting back against the onslaught of gender pronoun insanity with a new lawsuit against his employer.
Nicholas Meriwether, who teaches philosophy and religion at Shawnee State University in Ohio was reportedly chastised by faculty at the school after he referred to a transgender male student as “sir” – an “offense” that Meriweather was told would result in his firing if he didn’t use the “correct” gender pronoun preferred by the student in question.
Rather than roll over and submit to such insanity, Meriweather decided to sue the school, citing violations of his religious liberty as a Christian professor to abide by the natural law governance of there being only two genders: male and female.
“In January 2018, a male student demanded that Dr. Meriwether address him as a woman because he identified as such and threatened to have Dr. Meriwether fired if he declined,” reads the suit filed by Meriwether and his lawyer.
“To accede to these demands would have required Dr. Meriwether to communicate views regarding gender identity that he does not hold, that he does not wish to communicate, and that would contradict (and force him to violate) his sincerely held Christian beliefs.”
