A famous Dutch comedian, known for his jokes about hot topics, has said he’s more careful with jokes about Muslims.
In an interview with Dutch magazine “Nieuwe Revu”, comedian Youp van ‘t Hek says:
“I still make jokes about Muslims, but there’s a limit. That’s not a matter of being a coward or not daring, as my work is very important, but for me it goes too far to risk my life for it.
“A lot of jokes about religion are still possible, but I’m not that explicit about them anymore”
Van ‘t Hek says he already predicted the murder of Theo van Gogh, a Dutch film maker who was murdered in 2004 by a Muslim for criticising Islam.
“I already told my manager this would go completely wrong. The opponent [radical Islam]is just very dangerous,” he says in the interview.
