The terrifying tremor hit the Caribbean nation moments ago and comes in the aftermath of a terrifying 7.3 magnitude quake in Venezuela less than an hour ago.

The monster tremor in Venezuela triggered an aftershock felt 468 miles away in neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago.

One resident of Chaguanas in Trinidad and Tobago wrote on earthquake monitoring website EMSC-CSEM: “It rocked the place really hard.”

Another resident said: “Never ran down stairs so fast!”

Another, referring to Usain Bolt, said: “I could give Bolt competition even bring pregnant.

“I run out my house so fast.”

Quake watchdog the UWI Seismic Research Centre issued advice for tourists and residents on their Facebook page to “Drop, cover and hold on” with an illustration of a figure ducking down, crouching under a table and holding onto the leg.

They have since confirmed that no tsunami warning has been issued.

According to the UWI Seismic Research Centre, the quake lasted 90 seconds.

Additional advice issued by the research centre is to: “Stay calm, do not panic and be alert.”

The Trinidad quake came less than a hour after Venezuela was hit by a second 5.7 magnitude earthquake.

The disaster followed an earlier 7.3 magnitude quake that hit the nation late last night.
