Some of the thousands of victims of hundreds of Pennsylvania priests named in a bombshell report on Tuesday have told their stories in a powerful video where they reveal how the sexual abuse ruined their lives.

The video was released by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office on Tuesday along with the 886-page report which details the abhorrent abuse which took place across six different dioceses over 60 years.

Th video features three victims; Robert Corby, now 83, Shaun Dougherty, 48, and Carolyn Fortney, 37.

Fortney sobbed as she told how she ran to Father Augustine Giella, the priest who abused her, ‘in her diaper’ as a baby.

‘The day I met him I was 18-months-old. I was in my diaper and I ran, I ran right to him,’ she wept.

She went on to tell how his hands would ‘always’ be on her.

‘The word God makes me think of him. I just feel like my whole life has been a lie,’ she went on.

Carolyn was abused along with her three sisters. When their father discovered what was happening, she said he ‘went crazy’.

They confronted the church along with some of his other victims but it was not until 1992 that he was arrested. He died awaiting trial.
