Philippines was hit by the 5.2 magnitude at 4.33pm BST.

With Hawaii rattled by dozens of earthquakes and a volcanic eruption this month, the Pacific Ring of Fire is already on high alert.

The strong earthquake struck 113 miles from Davao, home to 1.2 million people.

No tsunami threat has been issued for the Philippines, which is made up of more than 7,500 islands.

It comes after a series of earthquakes sparked chaos in Hawaii, which also lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Kilauea volcano began erupting earlier this month, destroying dozens of homes and sparking the evacuations of thousands.

Alerts remain in place with a “huge eruption” feared as the lava level in the vocano drops, indicating a build-up in pressure.
