Manhunt for AXEMAN ‘at-large’ in Toronto – One victim injured

A MANHUNT is underway after reports of an axeman on the loose in Markham Road, Eglinton Avenue in Toronto with one victim confirmed so far.

The Toronto police Twitter account said: “Person with a Knife: Markham Rd/ Eglinton Avenue.

“Reports of a person with an axe in the area. Unconfirmed. Our units are responding.”

Units found a male victim with a hand injury which is allegedly from the axe.

The axe has been located but the suspect is at-large.

A spokesman from the Toronto police said it is believed the incident was an altercation between and it is not terror-related.

The news comes days after a van attack which killed 10 people.

One of the first victims of the Toronto van attack has been identified as Anne-Marie D’Amico.

She was an employee at Invesco, a US-based investment management firm, whose office’s headquarters were located on Yonge Street, less than a kilometre away where the attack occurred.

Her family have been informed.
