Over the weekend thousands of people in Hawaii woke up to a phone alert which told them they were all about to die because there was a missile headed their way.
After 38 minutes of panic, the Hawaii emergency management officials said the alert sent to mobile phones and televisions warning of an incoming ballistic missile to Hawaii on Saturday was a false alarm. The emergency alert sent to cellphones said, “Ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek immediate shelter. This is not a drill.”
The question that now needs to be asked is how can someone “accidentally” push a button and send a warning when there are fails safes in place to prevent them? In this case, five fail safes had to be pushed.
