Magnitude 6 earthquake ROCKS off Australia coast
A STRONG earthquake has struck off the coast of Australia.

A 6.0 magnitude tremor has struck near the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
The quake struck at around 10.30pm local time (11.50am UK).
The islands sit across the water from north-east Australia – 1,700km from Cairns.
There are no initial reports of any injuries or damages.
This cluster of islands is prone to earthquakes as it sits on major fault lines along the Ring of Fire.
This is a belt running around the Pacific Ocean where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.
