North Korea’s threat of starting World War 3 could be ended with the assassination of Kim Jong-un, said American lawyer Jim Rickards.
Speaking to RT News, he said the probability of a war is “very high”.
Mr Rickards added: “There are two outcomes: one is Kim Jung-un gets assassinated and this regime changes.
“We’d probably only do that with the help of the Chinese, but it’s pretty clear the Chinese are not on board. There is maybe a 20 percent probability.
“The other probability is Kim Jong-un stands down, he verifiably, voluntarily gives up his weapons development programme.
“I’ll give that maybe a 10 percent chance. He’s not going to do, he might pretend, but he’s not going to do it in 25 years.
“This has been dumped in Donald Trump’s lap but it’s surely the fault of Clinton, Bush and Obama.”
Foreign Ministry officials in the North made it clear that the hermit kingdom does not want war with the US.
They claim they are convinced the US is set on a course for preventive war and is shaping the battlefield for military operations against the North.
North Korean officials said: “Our soldiers have long been sleeping without removing their boots.”
