The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has reported that five deputies were shot and one fatally
Deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance call around 5.15am on Sunday at an apartment complex in Highlands Ranch
Two civilians were also shot in the incident and the suspect was also killed
The sheriff’s office issued a ‘Code Red’, instructing residents in the area to shelter in place
A motorcade was held for the fallen deputy, leaving Littleton Adventist Hospital and traveling along Colorado State Highway 470
One of the shot deputies has been confirmed as Deputy Jeff Pelle, son of Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle
Three patients all in non-critical condition were admitted to Sky Ridge Medical Center but it is unclear if they are law enforcement or civilians
Four of the victims – including the deceased deputy – were taken to Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton

A motorcade was held for a fallen Colorado deputy who was shot and killed while responding to a call on Sunday morning.

A line of police cars left Littleton Adventist Hospital and traveled along Colorado State Highway 470 led by two officers on motorcycles.

The fallen deputy was one of five who were shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call around 5.15am Sunday at the Copper Canyon Apartments on the 3400 block County Line Road between Colorado and University Boulevards.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that it was during the investigation at the Highlands Ranch building that shots were fired and several deputies were injured, the sheriff’s office tweeted.

One of those shot is Deputy Jeff Pelle, son of Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle, confirmed the one of the deputies shot this morning, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. His condition is currently unknown.

Two civilians were also shot by the suspect. The office said the suspect was shot and is believed to be dead and no longer a threat.

On Sunday afternoon, President Donald Trump sent a message of sympathy, tweeting: ‘My deepest condolences to the victims of the terrible shooting in Douglas County @DCSheriff, and their families. We love our police and law enforcement – God Bless them all! #LESM.’
