The missile launch was the most technologically advanced test to have been carried out by Kim’s hermit kingdom, proving the DPRK has the military capacity to strike the entirety of the US mainland as well the UK.

Now the nation’s ambassador to Britain has been summoned to Boris Johnson’s foreign office amid fears the young tyrant could trigger the beginning of World War 3.

Britain has repeatedly been targeted by threats from the despot’s regime, who have hit out at the nation’s support for Kim’s mortal enemy – the USA.

Foreign and Commonwealth Minister for Asia and Pacific Mark Field summoned the ambassador to condemn the regimes decision to launch the missile into the Sea of Japan.

In a statement he said: “I summoned the North Korean Ambassador to the Foreign Office to make clear to him our condemnation of this latest ballistic missile test.

“North Korea claims it wants to bring security and prosperity to its people.

“But its actions are creating only insecurity and deepening its isolation.

“The UK will continue to work with our partners and allies for a diplomatic solution.

“I urge the regime to abandon its illegal pursuit of nuclear and ballistic missiles and return to dialogue.”
