US website 38 North, which monitors Pyongyang, has released the findings amid fears the globe is on the edge of World War 3.

North Korea’s nuclear and missile tests have increased hugely this year with worries they can strike their enemies.

And US President Donald Trump has not backed down from increasingly terrifying jibes at the hermit state.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has also got involved trading horrific rhetoric, leading to fears of WW3 being unleashed.

It’s got so bad usually-bombastic Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for everyone to calm down.

Putin warned any attempt to tackle North Korea by the US with a preemptive strike would be doomed to fail.

Author Michael Zagurek has revealed what would happen if North Korea attacked the capital cities of South Korea and Japan with nuclear bombs.

He said that based on calculations, the North’s current weaponry could kill as many as 2.1 million people and injure 7.7 million others.

This would be the case if North Korea launched its entire arsenal of 25 operational nuclear weapons against Seoul and Tokyo.

The warhead yield, in this calculation, ranged from 15 to 250 kilotons.

Seoul is home to 24.1 million people – and Tokyo 37.9 million.

Zagurek took into account South Korea deploying the Terminal High Altitude Air Defence (THAAD) system to help protect against missile attacks.
