Police in Canada have issued an arrest warrant for Msgr. Carlo Capella, a high-ranking Vatican diplomat who police believe uploaded child pornography from a Windsor church during the Christmas holidays.
The Windsor Police Service issued a public notice: “In February of 2017 the Windsor Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) received information that originated from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) indicating that a suspect in the city of Windsor had allegedly uploaded Child Pornography using a social networking website.“
Capella was recalled to Rome in August after the U.S. State Department said the priest may have violated child pornography laws.
It is time for the Vatican to “put its money where its mouth is,” says Ontario Lawyer Robert Talach, and send Monsignor Carlo Capella back to Canada to face child pornography charges.
From CBC News:
“If Pope Francis has been nothing but a PR exercise this will prove it,” said Robert Talach with Beckett Personal Injury Lawyers.
Reports in American media state Capella, a high-ranking Catholic priest, was recalled to the Vatican after rumours U.S. authorities were planning to charge him with possession of child pornography began to swirl earlier this month.
