A Chicago train has been stopped and evacuated after a suspicious white substance was found, according to the CTA.
The Chicago Transit Authority tweeted at 8.47 Thursday morning: ‘Red Line trains not stopping at Addison due to fire department investigation.’
Authorities have said that a white substance was found on the Red Line train at that stop.
The train is shut down in both directions at the stop while police investigate.
All passengers were immediately evacuated from the train. It is unclear what the white substance is.
On its Twitter page, the CTA explained that an operator saw something strange and called authorities to investigate.
The Addison train station is in North Center Chicago, near Lincoln Park and Lakeview.
