Experts are worried barbaric ISIS terrorists could attempt to blow up a Christian place of worship as they strive for one last attack in their death throes.

The group claimed responsibility for last week’s deadly terror attack in Barcelona which left 14 people dead and dozens injured.

A van barreling down the famous pedestrianised street Las Ramblas in the Spanish capital is believed to have been the tip of the iceberg of planned attacks.

A stash of gas cylinders in an Alcanar house, which exploded, indicated a bigger attack was planned and that the nearby Sagrada Familia church was the target.

Officers believe, according to evidence and information they uncovered from the now-smashed Spanish terror cell, that the Roman Catholic church was planned to be blown up.

In light of the bigger and much more organised plans, ISIS propaganda material has taken on a more sinister meaning.

The group’s mouthpiece, ‘Rumiyah’, last published an edition in July.

While intensely scrutinised, nothing in it aroused more suspicion than normal.

But in the light of the chilling events in Spain, experts fear a Cathedral in Germany could be the group’s next target.

Among the run of the mill threats to Europe and the West, a Cathedral in Dresden is pictured in the materials.
