LEADING lingerie entrepreneur Michelle Mone decided to brave the Brexit “unknown” and set up a new business venture in spite of gloomy predictions.

Lady Mone, who established her brand Ultimo nearly 20 years ago, said that despite having been a Remainer during the referendum she has accepted the result and spurred the Government to go ahead with the divorce.
“We just got to go on and get the best trade deals we possibly can for business. But we cannot sit around and be doom and gloom.”
“Like any split of a business partnership, you don’t really get a split in a good way. And you don’t really get a happy divorce. But we are where we are with it.”
The entrepreneur turned Baroness explained that her decision to launch her new business, Michelle Mone Interiors, was based on her “positive” outlook on the future of the United Kingdom after the divorce from the EU27 bloc is finalised.
“Being an entrepreneur, we got to just face these brick walls and get over them, I’m very positive about the future but I think we are in the unknown.”
Speaking to Sky News, Lady Mone talked about the government report she wrote on supporting business start ups in 2015, saying it was “amazing” to see some of her recommendations being adopted by bigger companies.
The UK is currently negotiating a divorce settlement from the European Union and it is expected Brexit Secretary David Davis and EU Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier will soon move to discuss the future business relationship between the two sides.
