‘It’s going to be CATASTROPHIC’ Official warns North Korea war will kill MILLIONS
A WAR with North Korea would have devastating consequences, a top United States official has warned.

Defence Secretary Jim Mattis told the US Congress that a full-blown conflict with the hermit state must be avoided, saying it would only be won at a “great cost”.
The former Marine Commander called facing up to Kim Jong-un something “we don’t want”, adding a conflict to topple the regime would be worse than the Korean War that ended in 1953.
Military experts have also described the inevitably horrific outcome of any battle on the Korean Peninsula.
Michael O’Hanlon, a senior foreign policy fellow at the Brookings Institution, said: “To initiate military options takes you from a world of zero casualties to a world of tens of thousands in a best case, and quite possibly a million or more, especially if they use nuclear weapons.”
But despite the risks, it appears the US is still preparing for an invasion-type scenario.
The Pentagon has a procedure dubbed “OPLAN 5027” that reportedly details exactly how to defend its ally, South Korea, in the event of aggression from the North.
The plan includes details on reinforcing the 28,500 US troops and 500,000 from the South that would have to do battle against Kim’s army that is a million strong.
But there are worries that North Korea would be quick off the mark, having already prepared itself for a world war and positioned its weapons accordingly.
