The USS Carl Michigan, the largest nuclear submarine in the US arsenal, arrived in the port city of Busan on the same day as Jong-un celebrated the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s army.

And now it has emerged that the submarines are used to move crack soldiers like the US Navy SEALs.

It comes after it was reported that the Seal Team 6, the force who took out Osama bin Laden in 2011, has been training alongside South Korea’s version of the Seals for crackpot leader Kim Jong-un.

Washington has refused to comment on the activity of the Seal Team 6.

However analysts revealed the watercraft can carry 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles and are equipped to stealthily deploy up to 66 Navy SEALs.

The news follows weeks of escalating pressure in the region, as US President Donald Trump deploys an “armada” of submarines and a missile defence system in South Korea in response to the growing threat of the hermit state’s nuclear programme.

It comes as the former business tycoon warned a “major conflict” could break out with North Korea as he admitted solving the issue diplomatically could prove “very difficult”.
