The UNITED States has ignited a bitter war of words over North Korea after it told Japan it would resort to military action against the rogue state unless China steps up pressure on Pyongyang.

The hardline message from the United States Government was sent earlier this month when the two countries met and discussed North Korea’s nuclear and missile ambitions.

But after the details leaked out, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Sugar fired back on Wednesday that no such such talks had taken place and the report was fake news.

He said: “There are no facts like that. I’d clearly like to deny the report.”

Adding: “But Japan and the U.S. have closely coordinated policies by exchanging views at various levels.”

According to sources, a State Department Official said Donald Trump planned to address the issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping when they met in Mar-a-lago last weekend.

However, China fears that any hostile actions from America towards North Korea could result in Kin Jong Un retaliating by striking both South Korea and Japan.
