Abedin was born in the United States, but when she was two, her family moved to Saudi Arabia, where she lived for 16 years. Upon returning to the U.S. when she was 18 years old, Abedin enrolled in The George Washington University. Two years later, her association with Hillary Clinton began. Soon afterward, she began working for Clinton full-time.
The year was 1996, and the Clintons were in the middle of Bill Clinton’s two terms as president.
