I work for the largest chassis supplier to HYUNDAI in Montgomery alabama.
In the last 3 months i’ve watched our production numbers plummet to the
ground…every day workers are sent home early because they hit their
numbers by 2 pm.. last friday the korean staff took all the mangers into a
room and basically told us this…Next years production numbers have
already been established..as of january this coming year..HYUNDAI will
reduce production number of cars 20% of what we use to do in a year. that
is close to 2 months of production..we have been told that we will reduce
our staff even more by December…cars are not selling..and i believe the
auto bubble is on the verge of collapse.. HYUNDAI has so many cars on the
lot in Montgomery that they had to buy 2 parking lots one in Selma and
another in north Montgomery to store the cars..now both of those lots are
full and they just started parking cars in the grass….so just a heads
up…im on the front lines in this industry so if any questions just ask…
