The father of chicken shop terrorist Ahmad Khan Rahami revealed on Tuesday that he warned authorities about his violent son two years ago, but they still didn’t put him on any terror watch list.
Mohammad Rahami Sr appeared outside of his Elizabeth, New Jersey apartment on Tuesday and spoke to reporters in broken English, saying he called the FBI out of fears he might be radicalizing.
‘Two years ago, I call the FBI. My son he’s doing really bad, ok?
‘But they checked it almost two months. He’s ok. He’s clear. He’s not… terrorist. Now say he’s a terrorist. I say ok.,’ Mohammad told reporters.
When asked why he called the FBI, Mohammad said it was his son’s violent outbursts – including incidents in which he stabbed his other son and hit his wife. (According to public documents, Mohammad and Ahmad’s mother, Najiba, were separated. All references to Mohammad’s current wife refer to her as ‘his wife’ and not the mother of Ahmad, indicating that he appears to have remarried).
Rahami said the son he had stabbed was Nasim, confirming details revealed exclusively by DailyMail.com on Monday.
‘For no reason, because he stabbed my son and hit my wife. And I took him to jail two years ago.’
Asked what Ahmad had done to his wife, Mohammad said that he ‘hurt’ her, but refused to elaborate before going back inside his home.
