‘A weakened ISIS will lead to more chaos and bloodshed’ warns France
THE FACT the Islamic State has been weakened militarily will have enraged its fanatical leaders, and made them want to redouble their efforts to plot a string of wide-scale terrorist attacks on French soil, it has been claimed.

Paris prosecutor François Molins said as ISIS was rapidly losing ground in Iraq and Syria the likelihood of brutal terrorist attacks on the west had increased.
He said: “Paradoxically, the weakening of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria is something that increases the risk of a major terrorist attack in France.
“It is well-known that when a terrorist group is defeated on its own turf, it retaliates by carrying out a series of deadly attacks abroad.”
He also warned a large number of French jihadists pledging allegiance to ISIS were probably trying to make it back onto French soil, and that they should be seen as a serious security threat.
He said: “It’s what we call the ‘homeward’ threat: French Isis fighters and their families will soon be returning home.”
Returning jihadists pose a huge but virtually invisible threat to France.
