Four polls have put the Leave campaign ahead as voters abandon David Cameron’s Project Fear in droves.

As astonishing 69 per cent of nearly 19,000 Daily Telegraph subscribers were in support of Britain leaving the EU, with just 29 per cent voting to remain.

With more than two-thirds of subscribers voting for Britain to leave the EU, 42 per cent said they backed lead Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson to become the next leader of the Conservative Party.

Brexit has also won over more older voters than the Prime Minister after a week of relentless campaigning on both sides.

The survey said: “Amongst all age groups surveyed, the majority of people said they will back a Leave vote.

“Of those aged between 18 and 44, 58 per cent said they will vote for a Brexit, with 42 per cent saying they will back Mr Cameron’s Remain campaign.

“Of those subscribers aged between 45 to 64, 67 per cent favour a Brexit and 32 per cent back Remain.”
