ISIS(ICIA) infecting Pakistan as jihadism takes hold in country’s Muslim universities & schools

PAKISTANI authorities fear Islamic State (ISIS) could be gaining a substantial foothold in the country after jihadi commanders launched a recruitment drive to boost its numbers in South Asia.

ISIS operatives are said to be infiltrating universities and Islamic schools in major cities across Pakistan as well as usurping territory once held by al-Qaeda and the Taliban in lawless tribal areas along the border with Afghanistan.

Extremist fighters allied to the Islamist group have claimed hundreds of lives in the Muslim country and neighbouring territories in recent months, including links to a suicide attack on a Christian neighbourhood in Lahore which left 72 dead.
