The belligerent communist nation have confirmed that their new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) engine would enable them to stage nuclear strikes on the United States.
The engine’s success would represent a massive and dangerous step forward for the North Korean nuclear weapons program, which saw its fourth atomic test earlier this year.
The latest military latest provocation comes amid a recent wave of threats including to blow up New York City, the White House and South Korea’s presidential Blue House.
The new “indigenously designed” engine was tested earlier on Saturday under the keen supervision of the North Korean dictator.
With an 80-ton booster engine, analysts say North Korea could “easily reach” the US mainland with nuclear missiles.
