The Newhart family of North Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, rescued a kitten just six years ago, bottle-feeding the small feline back to health. The Newharts named the kitten Sugar and took good care of their newly adopted kitten. Like many American families, the Newharts loved their animal and cared for it like it was one of their own family.

Flash forward to December 2015. Just in time for Christmas, after a neighbor called the police, a violent police officer arrived five houses down from where the Newharts lived. Armed with a badge and a shotgun, the officer showed no discretion, thinking he was the judge, jury and executioner of the lost cat. After prodding the cat and making no effort to rescue it, he decided to shoot the feline with his shotgun. When the officer was finished with his unspeakable act of cruelty, he instructed the neighbors to clean up the gory mess.

The officer was dispatched to the neighbor’s yard because the neighbor had placed a 911 call, asking for help in rescuing a lost cat. That cat was named Sugar and his family lived just five houses down. When the cop arrived at the scene, none of this mattered. Instead of trying to capture the lost cat and find its owner, the cop decided to unleash a hail of gunfire.
