Daesh (ISIL/ISIS) militants are currently engaged in developing chemical weapons, necessitating that we stop the jihadists from obtaining the ingredients they would need to launch an attack, according to Boris Dolgov, a Russian expert on the Middle East.

In an interview with Sputnik, Boris Dolgov, a Russian Middle East political analyst, warned about the potential smuggling of chemical weapons’ precursors which he said could be obtained by Daesh terrorists who are already engaged in the development of such weapons.

According to Dolgov, who is a senior fellow at the Center for Arab Studies of the Moscow-based Institute of Oriental Studies, Daesh terrorists may well obtain weapons of mass destruction through the corrupt circles in the Middle East.

“These include chemical and biological weapons and even some components of nuclear weapons, which are not uncommon in some countries,” Dolgov said, adding that developed nations’ special services should do more to resolve the problem.
