United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation (UIMC) has equipped Russian cutting-edge armored vehicles, including the Kurganets-25 combat vehicle and the Armata tank, with software and hardware systems for netcentric warfare, the company’s press office reported on Monday.

“The Kurganets-25 infantry armored vehicle, the Bumerang combat vehicle, Taifun armored vehicle, and the Armata tank, which will be displayed for the first time during the May 9 Victory Parade in Moscow, are now equipped with up-to-date software and hardware systems designed by UIMC. The new systems allow online monitoring of the tactical setting and cooperation with command points and other military units within an automatized combat control system,” the report read.

According to Vasily Borisov, research head of the Sozvezdie group (part of UIMC), the new systems will allow combat vehicle crews to implement the new warfare concept entitled “netcentric warfare”.
