How banks, corporations and governments use mainstream media to brainwash us

Increasingly, the news we see (and the news that never becomes public) is increasingly being controlled by monied corporate interests who wield control using their advertising dollars, and by governments that seek to censor information they consider too revealing.
And because of that, a growing number of mainstream media journalists are leaving their employers so they can finally report the truth about how broadcast, print and online media has become so co-opted and corrupt it is difficult to believe anything you read or hear.
As reported by the Center for Research on Globalization, an independent research and media organization based in Montreal, Canada, Peter Oborne, the former chief political commentator for Britain’s The Telegraph newspaper, quit recently over frustration that the paper refused to allow him to publish disparaging, yet factual, information regarding HSBC Holdings plc, a British multinational banking and financial services company.
According to an opinion piece Oborne wrote for Open Democracy, titled, “Why I Resigned from the Telegraph,” the former political writer stated his paper would not let him public pieces critical of HSBC for fear of losing ad dollars.
