LOVELAND, Colo. — A Colorado patient with symptoms of Ebola tested negative for the virus at a hospital in Loveland, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said Thursday.
The patient was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies on Wednesday night in a specially equipped ambulance after becoming ill and after recently traveling to an unidentified Ebola-affected country.
The patient’s hometown and gender were not released, but officials said the patient was considered to be at low risk of infection and was in an isolated and secure are of the hospital.
“Medical Center of the Rockies is taking all possible precautions to ensure the safety of other patients, visitors and staff,” the Department of Public Health and Environment said in a news release.
