Doctor Slams CDC Ebola Safety Guide; “It Is Wrong”

“Unacceptable” instructions will increase contamination risk

A revered doctor took to Twitter Wednesday to point out that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has safety advice on its website, related to handling Ebola patients, that is dangerously inaccurate.

Calling the CDC’s instructional guide “unacceptable”, George Washington University hospital laboratory director Dr. Jonathan Reiner noted that government produced diagrams showed health care workers with exposed areas of skin around the face and neck.

“This is from CDC web page for Ebola personal protective equipment,” Reiner tweeted. “Notice exposed skin at face & neck. Unacceptable.”
