No, there is no mis-spelling in the title. America is morphing into Amerika or the USSA, spellings used to indicate the communization of the country.
What if you woke up one day and found this country to the left of Russia and/or China? That would certainly be shocking. Even the possibility of that occurring is considered remote by much of the population. Yet, in some respects, we are already there and moving further left by the day.
Existing policy is moving us to the left of Communist governments. While that might be shock our liberal friends, and perhaps also many conservatives, an apolitical comparison of policies supports just such a contention. Simon Black puts things into perspective with a valid and reasonably objective way to judge government and its priorities.
Mr. Black’s assessment of government priorities and where they must lead is telling. It is indicative of how far we have fallen from the ideals on which the country was founded and where we are inevitably headed with existing policies:
