According to a brand new Wall Street Journal/NBC survey, 37 percent of Americans would have “reservations” or be “uncomfortable” with a gay president, but 44 percent of Americans would have “reservations” or be “uncomfortable” with an evangelical Christian president. This represents a massive cultural shift. Back in 2006, the same survey found that 53 percent of Americans would have “reservations” or be “uncomfortable” with a gay president.
