A patient with a suspected case of Ebola is being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Public health officials and hospital officials would not comment directly on the specifics of the case or the patient as news broke about the situation Tuesday night.

While people may have found the lack of details frustrating, there were some answers available for more general questions about what happens next in a case like this. The next important step will be any preliminary findings to the tests being conducted. Final, conclusive results could take up to three days to process.
