Austria is cracking down on human trafficking. With plans to deny asylum to ALL migrants who attempt to enter the country using human traffickers. As well, recent measures is a plan to seize migrants’ cash when they arrive in country and using that money towards their initial care.
Kickl, of the right-wing Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) is hopeful that Austrian laws will soon be adopted accordingly to make his plans, based upon the idea that it isn’t fair that only those who can afford the expensive services of human traffickers have more chances of asylum than others, possible.
Austria’s Chancellor Sebastian Kurz of the conservative Austrian People’s Party (OVP) has also said similarly: “It is not the poorest who flee, but those who can afford human traffickers.”
Also stating that it was a mistake to give the impression to all of Africa that “these people can get through to Europe”, saying it lead to “dead people in the Mediterranean” and the camps in Libya where the African migrants are being “enslaved and tortured” by Libyans taking advantage of the migrants.
