Protesters today vowed to disrupt Donald Trump’s visit to Britain on July 13 with mas protests.

The US President will come to the UK for talks with Theresa May after travelling to Europe for a NATO summit.

The confirmation of the working trip – which will not have all the pomp and ceremony of a state visit – comes after months of difficult wrangling between the White House and Downing Street over the plans.

But it sparked immediate threats of protest as activists said they would ‘take to the streets’ to vent their fury at his visit.

Jeremy Corbyn-backing activist and commentator Owen Jones took to Facebook to urge Britons to join mass demonstrations against the visit.

Writing on the ‘Protest Trump’s Visit’ Facebook group – which has over 100,000 people interested in it, he wrote: ‘It’s official; Donald Trump is visiting the UK on 13th July.

‘Everyone out on the streets! Invite everyone you know to this event.’

Police have been bracing themselves for what could be the biggest protests the country has seen.

And the Lib Dems vowed to join the demonstrations, with their deputy party leader Jo Swinson saying: ‘The Government has made the right decision to cancel Trump’s state visit, but this scaled down trip must not be met with scaled down protests.

‘Protesting against a man with dangerous, misogynistic and racist views is our responsibility.
