British musician Noel Gallagher believes the UK should accept the Brexit referendum vote – and move on.

Former Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher says those complaining about the result that will see Britain leave the European Union have to get over it after insisting it was a ‘legal vote.’

Speaking during a Facebook live chat with the Noisey music channel on Wednesday, November 15, the guitarist discussed Brexit, saying: “F*****g get it doneā€¦and let’s move on.”

His forthright view was quickly seized upon by former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, who responded by sharing a link to Gallagher’s comments, writing “I think the correct term here is ‘lad’.”

In the interview, Gallagher said that while he didn’t vote in the EU referendum himself, he agreed more with the Remain camp. The ensuing debate over the issue has, however, clearly annoyed him.

“In England, the Brexit thing, it’s like, I can’t believe there’s so much noise about it. “You know what I mean? It was put to the people as a vote, the people voted. That’s democracy. F*****g get over it. I didn’t vote because I didn’t think we should have been given the vote in the first place because as ordinary members of the public how are you qualified to talk about the break-up of the oldest continent in the f*****g world? Then the people trying to get the vote overturned, they used to call that fascism. But they don’t call it fascism any more because they’re f*****g ‘right on’.”
