‘A declaration of WAR’ EU leaders ‘to launch emotional BACKLASH on Britain for Brexit’

THE Government is said to be worried that bitter eurocrats will try to punish Britain for ditching the crumbling bloc as Theresa May’s negotiating team prepare for an “emotional” backlash from the EU.

May’s team reportedly believe European hostilities could prove the downfall in negotiations as British officials revealed the EU is feeling hurt by UK’s rejection of the bloc.

A senior member of the Tory administration is concerned that May has not done enough to “woo” EU leaders, Bloomberg reported.

Emma Reynolds, who is on the Brexit select committee, said: “The tone of the negotiations is as important as the substance and so far it hasn’t been very good.

“I don’t think the prime minister or anybody else in government has done enough to build the sort of alliances and friendships with their EU counterparts that will be crucial to getting a good deal.”

David Davis, the Brexit Secretary, will continue to travel to EU capitals in an attempt to build relationships and gauge the feelings towards the ongoing negotiations.
