Hungary Will Seal Border With Croatia at Midnight

Hungary has decided to close off the border with Croatia on midnight October 17, according to Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
The Brussels meeting of EU leaders failed to find a way of protecting the outer borders of the Schengen zone, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto said following a meeting with the national security cabinet.
“Therefore, the national security cabinet decided that from midnight <…> Hungary will fully enforce the Schengen rules on the border with Croatia,” Szijjarto announced to reporters.
Budapest informed Croatia, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Poland, and Slovakia of the decision, the minister said.
