MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian MiG-31 (Foxhound) interceptor jet pilots have held air combat exercises over the Kamchatka Peninsula, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Eastern Military District’s press service said Tuesday.
“The task of destroying a simulated enemy was complicated with poor weather conditions that are currently in Kamchatka,” the press service said.
Previously, military drills on the Kamchatka Peninsula were held in February with the participation of the Russian Pacific Fleet. A total of 2,500 servicemen took part in the exercise.
On Monday, the Pacific Fleet’s press service said its anti-ship vessels were conducting live torpedo and artillery drills.
