Police in Los Angeles were engaged in a desperate search Monday for two male suspects who fired on undercover officers in the South L.A. streets, wounding them slightly before fleeing.
ABC 7 reported that dozens of SWAT members and police dogs were on the scene, seeking suspects.
The shooting incident happened early Sunday evening, as the officers, dressed in plain clothes and described by media as narcotics experts, were driving through a neighborhood. The policemen then returned gunfire, and were grazed by bullets in the process, said Officer Cory Meisner, a spokesman for the local police department, CNN reported.
The two officers were treated at the scene of the shooting.
