US police forces are trained by Israeli military forces to ‘occupy’ the communities they are in charge of across America, a commentator tells Press TV.

“There is a problem in US police departments being trained very largely by the Israeli defense forces… which is an ‘occupation force’, so people are being trained in which to occupy the community,” Graylan Hagler, a justice advocate from Washington, said in an interview with Press TV on Monday.

He added that militarization of the US police force “will continue unchanged particularly in terms of the current trajectory that it’s on.”

The remarks come as a grand jury in the US made a decision not to indict police officer Darren Wilson, who shot dead unarmed black teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri on August 9.

Reacting to the verdict, Hagler stated that the grand jury, the prosecutors, and police all work together and “there’s a hesitancy for any of those entities to alienate each other.”

Following the grand jury decision, protests against racial discrimination and police brutality in the United States broke out across the country.
