The government is considering whether to destroy up to 15,000 eggs which left a bird flu-stricken farm in Yorkshire almost two weeks ago, MailOnline can reveal.
The revelation by Cherry Valley, Britain’s duck supplier which sells ready meals to Tesco, M&S, Lidl and Aldi, draws a second site into the bird flu crisis at its breeding farm in Nafferton, East Yorkshire – the UK’s first for six years.
Gas canisters arrived on the Nafferton farm this morning as Defra chiefs prepared to cull all 6,000 of its white Pekin ducks.
